We recommend that sample preparation (E) is used if you are not sure of the content of your sample.
The ethanol washing will remove glucose and maltodextrins that may be present.
Then proceed with step 3 of sample preparation method (B) as potato contains resistant starch.
The NaOH format (method B) is recommended for RS from potato as we have experienced issues with solubilisation of potato amylose in the DMSO method (D).
