What is the difference between the Total Starch Assay Kit (K-TSTA) & Total Starch HK Assay Kit (K-TSHK)?

Modified on Thu, 11 Nov, 2021 at 10:26 AM

K-TSTA and K-TSHK are very similar. The sample preparation examples, that include enzymic hydrolysis of starch to glucose are the same in both kits. The only difference between these two kits is the measurement of released glucose. In K-TSTA glucose oxidase/peroxidase is used (wavelength 510nm), whereas in K-TSHK hexokinase/glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase/NADP+ format is used (wavelength 340nm). For a standard analysis we use K-TSTA in our laboratory.
