Can the Cellulase Assay Kit (CellG3 Method) (K-CellG3) be used to measure thermostable cellulase enzymes?

Modified on Fri, 24 Sep, 2021 at 11:07 AM

The Cellulase Assay Kit (CellG3 Method)  can be used at temperatures up to 90ºC provided that assay incubation time is not longer than 10 minutes.

The blank absorbance value increase of 0.075 was obtained for the CellG3 reagent solution (following addition of 3mL Stopping Reagent) after incubation with 0.1 mL assay buffer (pH5) for 10 minutes at 90°C. This corresponds to only 5% total substrate degradation.

The ancillary β-glucosidase employed in the assay is also stable up to 90ºC,
