Should the sum of resistant starch % and soluble starch % equal to 100% when using the Resistant Starch Assay Kit (K-RSTAR)?

The resistant starch control consists of resistant starch and solubilised starch.

These values together give you the total starch content. This sample will also contain moisture, ash and protein etc. so resistant starch % and soluble starch % will not equal 100%.

As an example, on of the resistant starch control (lot 60901) consisted of the following:

Resistant starch = 44% dwb
Solubilised starch = 44% dwb
Total starch = 88% dwb
