How do I know if my sample is interfering with the assay?

If you are concerned about interference in your assay you can test this by spiking your sample i.e. adding a known amount of standard solution to the sample prior to sample preparation and assessing the recovery of this compared to sample only and standard only – all processed via the same sample preparation method prior to the test.
