Does your Wheat Arabinoxylan have any ferulic acid substitutions?

Modified on Wed, 13 Oct, 2021 at 6:41 AM

We do not specifically measure for ferulic acid content in arabinoxylans. We use alkali during the extraction of wheat arabinoxylan. We believe that this breaks the diferulate bridge and releases the ferulic acid.  However, our insoluble arabinoxylan is prepared without alkaline treatment, so we would expect that all ferulic acid residues would be intact.
